One of the first things that any company should do when they’re getting formed is to secure their appropriate social media profiles. LinkedIn and YouTube are musts to get going, but they don’t require much effort in the beginning. Foursquare is important for businesses with physical locations. Tumblr should be grabbed even if you’re not going to use it in the beginning.

The ones that have to hit the ground running for just about any business are Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Pinterest. Instagram and a few others are optional, but the four big ones – you have to have those going.
